Call for Writers

Are you a writer? Are you a William Shatner fan?

If the answer to both of those questions is "yes," then you might consider writing something for our site.

We're looking for essays, interviews, features, and any other related content about William Shatner that we can publish on the site. If you want to review William Shatner movies and get paid for it, then this is the right place. If you want to write a history of William Shatner's relationship to Priceline, then we'll pay you for that too.

Here's the catch.

We have high editorial standards. If you're writing isn't good enough for us, or if it doesn't fit the tone of the site, we won't publish it. (Don't worry; we're not going to steal it and use it anywhere else, either.) So if you submit something, please understand that we reserve the right to send it back to you unpublished.

Here's the other catch.

We can't afford to pay very much. We buy all Internet rights to anything you submit to us for a penny a word. What that means is that if you write an article for us about William Shatner, you can't publish it anywhere else on the Internet. You can, however, sell it to a magazine, or include it in a book of essays that you've written, or anything else besides the Internet.

We will always include a byline for you though, and we'll include a link back to your personal website, if you have one. That's in addition to the penny per word payment.

We understand if those terms don't work for you, and if that's the case, don't submit your work. Not every publisher and not every writer are a good fit.

Do mention that you're writing to me about William-Shatner.com though, because I run several sites besides this one.
